POZZI patents and develops RHeX, the new high-performance rotating heat exchanger

  • 16-04-2018

In November 2016, thanks to fundings from Horizon 2020 LowUP project, Low valued energy sources upgrading for buildings and industry uses, Grant Agreement n. 723930, POZZI LEOPOLDO SRL  developed the newly patented RHeX, rotating heat exchanger with enhanced performance.

Like RCR this heat recovery unit is characterized by being self-cleaning, fouling-proof, maintenance-free and constantly highly efficient. In addition, RHeX is more robust and compact, more resistant to pressure up to 5 bar, with a new pushing action of the viscous and dense effluents to be processed, and with more practical, modular, lenticular disks forming the rotor.

RHeX, thanks to the high quality of manufacturing materials and to the innovative design of the disks, which are the actual thermal exchange surfaces, proves to be an extremely competitive sustainable technology in terms of CAPEX, OPEX, ROI, guaranteeing big savings with its virtually infinite life cycle for circular-economy oriented industries.

In November 2016 POZZI LEOPOLDO SRL wins a European grant to fund the research and development of RHeX, a new patented rotating heat exchanger,  with the Horizon 2020 LowUp project– Low valued energy sources UPgrading for buildings and industry uses – which is developing efficient alternatives to supply heating and cooling for building and industries, based on the use of renewable free energy and heat recovery from non-valuated residual energy sources that are currently wasted. As a result, these technologies will contribute to reducing significantly CO2 emissions and primary energy consumption, and increasing the energy efficiency in buildings.

The LowUP project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreement n°723930.
